Did your Segway Ninebot S scooter shut off unintentionally?

As a Los Angeles personal injury attorney, I have come across many interesting cases.

Recently, I have been made aware of an unusual circumstance affecting Segway Ninebot S scooters.

The Segway Ninebot S is a self-balancing scooter that has no handle bars. Instead, the rider places their feet on footrests, and a small bar rises up just past the rider’s shins. You have probably seen people (and often teenagers) in your neighborhood riding around on these cool looking scooters. The picture attached to this article shows a Segway Ninebot S scooter.

The problem that many riders have experienced while riding the Segway Ninebot S scooter is unintended shut-offs. What happens is the rider will be riding at an ordinary pace, and the device will simply power off without warning. This causes the rider, who is already in a semi-leaning forward position, to be thrown off the scooter. This itself can cause devastating injuries. This circumstance has happened even when the Segway Ninebot S scooter is fully charged by the rider prior to its use. The issue, therefore, does not appear to be a dead battery problem.

Injuries related to a Segway Ninebot S scooter shutting off unintentionally can be gruesome. As a scooter accident lawyer, I have seen scooter riders with injuries such as broken arms, wrists, feet, and torn knee ligaments too. Many of these injuries have required surgery, and in some cases, multiple surgeries.
